May the slop be with you? The Walt Disney Company said Thursday it will invest $1 billion in OpenAI in a deal that will allow users to churn out AI videos with copyrighted characters from “Star Wars” and more through the artificial intelligence firm’s Sora app.

Disney is investing $1 billion in OpenAI, the entertainment giant announced on Thursday. As part of the deal, OpenAI users will be able to create AI images and videos featuring some of Disney's copyrighted characters.

Disney’s deal with OpenAI will allow users to generate AI videos based on characters from Marvel, Star Wars and other franchises.

OpenAI said Thursday it reached a licensing deal with the Walt Disney Co. to use more than 200 popular Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, characters from "Frozen" and Yoda from "Star Wars" in OpenAI's text to video tool Sora. Disney has also agreed to invest $1 billion into the San Francisco AI startup.
