As the 49ers prepare for the offseason, Brock Purdy is the number one priority, and CBS Broadcaster Jim Nantz endorses an extension ASAP.

Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers’ brass have a similar mindset regarding one of the biggest offseason questions around the organization.

The 49ers seem to have decided that Brock Purdy is their franchise quarterback. To Purdy's credit, he went to the Super Bowl in his first full season.

As the 49ers think about their future at the quarterback position, signing Brock Purdy to a long-term contract has become a must.

General manager John Lynch did his best to silence such thoughts when meeting with reporters on Wednesday. Speaking about the team's plans this offseason Lynch made a definitive statement on Purdy with negotiations around the corner: he's their guy and he'll be around a while.

Purdy is eligible for an extension now that Week 18 has ended, giving the 49ers a little more than four months to hammer out a deal that won’t be easy to navigate after the QB’s struggles in his third season.

Show him the money? Shanahan had a strong quote about Purdy, saying, "I plan on being with Brock here the whole time I'm here,”

It seems inevitable that the San Francisco 49ers will offer quarterback Brock Purdy a significant contract this offseason, potentially making him one of the NFL's highest-paid players.

Shanahan has officially entered boom-or-bust territory by tying himself to Brock Purdy. If the team and Purdy fail to bring home the franchise's sixth Lombardi Trophy, his tenure will quickly come to an end.
