Disney's acquisition of NFL Network and RedZone gives the company unprecedented control over America's most popular sport.

According to Goodell, RedZone would remain an in-house production for the NFL. Just instead, it will air on ESPN-owned platforms. Under that arrangement, ESPN wouldn't actually be able to change the content we see on RedZone. It would almost seem like ESPN is just simulcasting the typical version of RedZone.

The NFL announced Tuesday night that it has entered into a nonbinding agreement with ESPN. Under the terms, ESPN will acquire NFL Network, NFL Fantasy and the rights to distribute the RedZone channel to cable and satellite operators and the league will get a 10% equity stake in ESPN.
