The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ground stop at Nashville International Airport due to weather.

Only two flights have been canceled so far at McGhee Tyson on Nov. 7. Knoxville, so far, has avoided the brunt of the government shutdown impacts on airports. Unlike other Tennessee airports, like Nashville International Airport, long security lines and delays have been minimal.

The FAA released the list of affected airports Thursday, with a focus on areas that have been struggling most with air-traffic-control staffing shortages. The list includes some of the nation’s biggest, busiest airports, including those in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and New York City.

Orlando International Airport was listed as one of the 40 "high volume" major airports slated for a 10% reduction in flights, reports say. Tampa International Airport is also included in the list.

Airlines are canceling hundreds of flights to comply with the FAA's order. But there are still questions about the plan, which the agency says will keep the skies safe during the government shutdown.
