The Phoenix Suns were linked to Jimmy Butler for much of the six-time All-Star's saga at the end of his tenure with the Miami Heat. Until they weren't.

The NBA trade deadline has definitely lived up to the hype this season, and the latest domino has fallen with the Miami Heat trading away its biggest superstar in Jimmy Butler. The six-time NBA All-Star is heading to the Golden State Warriors to link up with Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

Charania reports that, as part of the Butler trade, the Heat are sending Josh Richardson and Lindy Waters III to the Detroit Pistons. The NBA insider also reports that Butler has agreed to a new two-year, $121 million extension with the Warriors that runs through the 2026-27 season, and is declining his player option for the 2025-26 season.
