The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) today announced it received a top score on the Disability Equality Index®, making the company a "Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion" for the sixth year in a row.

While fast-food chains always had a handful of seasonal items, it wasn't a major trend. Burger King and Wendy's would add fish sandwiches for Lent season, and the Shamrock Shake was a McDonald's annual seasonal offering that came out around Patrick's Day,

DiPietro is well equipped to lead the new division. Before joining Kroger earlier in the year, he held a variety of positions during his 21-year career with Ahold Delhaize USA. Most recently, he was VP of omnichannel planning and execution, where he spearheaded omnichannel planning and execution strategies across five brands.

Kroger is closing another store in North Texas — and this one is in Dallas County. The grocer shuttered a store earlier this week in Garland, according to John Votava, spokesperson for the company. Kroger lists two other stores in the city on its website.

The store now features an updated sushi bar, an expanded produce section and enhancements to the Artisan bread department. Kroger added a new deli olive bar to the store. The store contains 103,531 square feet and has 207 employees. The North Memorial Drive store opened in November 2017.

The country's largest supermarket operator is shutting down 60 locations across 16 states following a sales decline. Kroger promises to relocate affected employees while reinvesting savings into customer experience improvements.
