"National Night Out" happens on the first Tuesday in August in cities across the country. It is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, National Night Out.

The city's two-day celebration included stops in 12 neighborhoods to help build closer ties between police and residents.

National Night Out promotes community building and focuses on strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and residents.
