AWS has a deep partnership with Anthropic, long offering its Claude models, one of OpenAI's biggest competitors. The cloud giant has invested extensively in Anthropic, with Anthropic training its new models using AWS infrastructure, including the cloud company's in-house Trainium chips via the Project Rainier supercluster of Trainium2 UltraServers.

Amazon is offering OpenAI’s new open-weight AI models on Bedrock and SageMaker, bypassing Microsoft’s Azure exclusivity via the Apache 2.0 license.

These models are now accessible via AWS Bedrock and SageMaker, putting Amazon in direct play with Microsoft and giving AWS customers a new way to build and run AI applications using OpenAI technology.
