The Chicago Cubs have unveiled a ceremonial patch on their uniform to honor Ryne Sandberg one day after the Hall of Famer’s death. Sandberg died Monday at the age of 65.

Hall of Fame Chicago Cubs slugger and second baseman Ryne Sandberg has died, following a battle with prostate cancer.

"Everyone walked away from that interaction feeling like they had some connection with him," said Iowa Cubs assistant general manager Randy Wehofer, who was the team's broadcaster at the time. "And it was pretty unbelievable to see.
