AP Top 25 poll discussion: Is women’s college basketball in the calm before the storm of conference chaos?
Last week, Louisville jumped six spots in the AP Top 25 poll, boosted by their overtime win over now-No. 16 North Carolina. The Cardinals maintained their positive momentum, earning another statement win against now-No. 23 Tennessee and advancing three more spots to No. 13.
Undefeated UConn still has the top spot in The Associated Press Top 25 women's basketball poll. The Huskies received 24 first-place votes from a 32-member national media panel.
The Wildcats added to one of the best résumés in the country by defeating Alabama 96-75. Arizona boasts five ranked wins: Florida, UCLA, UConn, Alabama and Auburn. Michigan received the second-most first-place votes (15) after defeating Villanova and Maryland. Duke, another team that challenged for the No. 1 spot, was idle.
