The New Jersey Board of Education will eliminate the requirement for most teacher candidates to pass basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills tests to gain certification.

Laconia Adult Education is offering free Basic Math and Reading Classes on Tuesday, Sept. 18, and Thursday, Sept. 20, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., announced Peggy Selig, program director.
