As the winter storm approaches West Texas this weekend, leaders at both the city and government levels have delivered their messages to the public. Governor Greg Abbott expects weather conditions to worsen going into Friday and through the entire weekend.

Dallas police Chief Daniel Comeaux said Thursday that Gov. Greg Abbott was off base in blaming AT&T’s planned move from downtown on city leaders’ public safety decisions, saying instead that conditions were improving from stepped-up patrols and renewed focus on the area.

The newest addition to the Texas State park system, Post Oak Ridge State Park, was unveiled by Texas Parks and Wildlife on Friday.
