Docker, Kubernetes, Microsoft Azure and AWS ECS and ESK, are the leading technology container tools being used by SMB and enterprise customers in 2023, says Flexera’s new cloud report.

Microsoft Azure becomes the first public cloud to support all the mainstream container orchestration engines including Docker Swarm, Mesosphere DC/OS, and Kubernetes.

Brendan Burns, a senior staff engineer who helped create the Kubernetes open source container orchestration technology, is joining Microsoft to work on the Azure public cloud.

Azure Container Service supported basic Docker containers, Kubernetes, and Mesosphere DC/OS. In late 2017, Microsoft rolled out Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) as a replacement for ACS.
