Democrat and current Hiawatha City Council member Aime Wichtendahl and first-time candidate, Republican John Thompson are pitching their visions to voters.

A political newcomer and a Hiawatha City Council member are running against each other to fill the open Iowa House seat for District 80, which covers Hiawatha, Robins and northeast Cedar Rapids.
