Based on the novel "Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH" by Robert C. O'Brien. The animated film originally opened in US theaters on July 16th, 1982 - the same month in the UK, too.

Mrs. Frisby enlists a group of former lab rats, whom she soon discovers possess advanced technologies and run a highly evolved society, dividing labor in the manner of a human community.

The animated drama, which is searching for a writer, is based on the trilogy of books that began in 1971 with O’Brien’s Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH.
