Trading Quinn Hughes won’t fix Canucks

Canucks fans are still coming to terms with last week's blockbuster trade that saw captain Quinn Hughes dealt to the Minnesota Wild.
Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has acquired forwards Marco Rossi and Liam Öhgren, defenceman Zeev Buium and a first-round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for defenceman Quinn Hughes.
The Devils became part of the Quinn Hughes picture as soon as rumblings began that the star defenseman might not be long for Vancouver. His two younger brothers, Jack and Luke, play for New Jersey, and Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford did little to extinguish any rumors.
