With a third 'Predator' film under his belt, Dan Trachtenberg told Deadline about the subtle 'Alien' crossover with his latest entry in the franchise.
"Predator: Badlands" contains a cameo that came about because of director Dan Trachtenberg's relationship with "Stranger Things" creators Matt and Ross Duffer.
In other words, Trachtenberg didn't want Predator: Badlands to feel like so many other modern blockbusters that only make sense if you're watched the movies and shows leading up to it (looking at you Marvel).
Audiences have seen three new movies (Prey, Alien: Romulus, Predator: Killer Of Killers) and a new TV series (Alien: Earth), and we’ll be treated to the arrival of Predator: Badlands in theaters everywhere.

Badlands speared $4.8M million in previews, which includes both Wednesday fan and Thursday night shows. The preview number is under another sci-fi genre title Alien: Romulus‘ $6.5M which was another franchise reboot for the revived 20th Century Studios under new owner Disney.
