The Sixers suffered a seventh straight defeat Saturday night at Wells Fargo, losing to the Nets at the buzzer.
For the majority of this season, Tyrese Maxey has been leading the charge for the Philadelphia 76ers. Along with doing what he can on the court, the former All-Star is attempting to uplift his teammates behind the scenes as well.
Along with Joel Embiid, who is out on the second game of a back-to-back, Maxey has been ruled out due to a right knee contusion. He was a late addition to the injury report and will now miss his seventh game of the season.
The Nets rival the Sixers when it comes to dealing with injuries. Cam Thomas (strained left hamstring), De’Angelo Russell (sprained right ankle), Noah Clowney (sprained left ankle) and former Sixer De’Anthony Melton (left knee ACL tear) were sidelined.
The Sixers’ effort was abysmal to start the game before a late comeback attempt was thwarted by buzzer-beating offensive rebound.
