Some 11 school districts drew voters to the polls, totaling 16 contested elections for open seats. So who won?

The former New Castle County Council President was soundly defeated as part of school board election night in Delaware Tuesday.

Voters across Pennsylvania will head to the polls next week to cast their ballots in county, municipal, judicial, and school board elections. The races are quieter affairs than last year’s presidential contest and are traditionally low in turnout.

Meet the candidates running for contested school board seats in Appoquinimink, Brandywine, Christina and Red Clay. Election day is coming May 13.

The draft bills were largely discussed as common-sense legislation as the committee hummed along on May 7, with only slight pushback from the Delaware School Boards Association on funding for virtual options that still allow student engagement. Regardless, each bill was cleared by committee and awaits final consideration on the Senate floor.

Democratic candidates for Columbus City Council Jesse Vogel and Tiara Ross will proceed to the general election after knocking out independent Kate Curry-Da-Souza.

In Sussex County, four contests are set for May 13. It will be a busy day for the Cape Henlopen district. There are three candidates running for nominating district C, which includes Lewes. There is an at-large seat in contention as well between two candidates.

It's that time of year again, with voter turnout historically bad, education experts urge the public to participate in Tuesday's school board elections.

School Board Elections take place in Delaware statewide Tuesday, May 13th.  In Sussex County, not every school district will have an election.  There are elections in the Cape Henlopen, Indian River and Woodbridge School Districts.
