AAA Texas: Gas prices down in time for Spring Break
As reported by the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch, the average gas price across Texas was $2.66 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel on Thursday. This price is seven cents less compared to last week and a decrease of 36 cents compared to the same day last year.

The average fuel price in state has slightly rose about 2 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gas prices across the state in the last year have been as low as $2.51 on Dec. 16, 2024, and as high as $3.27 on May 6, 2024. A year ago, the average gas price in Texas was 2% lower at $2.60 per gallon.

AAA Texas said this drop comes as many travelers gear up to hit the road for spring break and drivers may be surprised to find gas under $3 in 31 states. According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand increased from 8.87 million b/d last week to 9.18.
