The Arizona Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals meet up in Omaha on Sunday with their NCAA Men’s College World Series hopes on the line in the first elimination game of the tournament. Both teams had high hopes coming into the Men’s College World Series, but found themselves on the losing end of a couple of tough battles.

Arizona was the first team to arrive in Omaha, landing on Tuesday after spending an extra day in North Carolina following a Super Regional that saw the Wildcats take advantage of a huge break to get back to the College World Series.

No. 15 national seed UCLA, unseeded Murray State, No. 3 seed Arkansas and No. 6 LSU practiced in that order Thursday afternoon at Charles Schwab Field in the second block of teams at the College World Series.

Under Dave Van Horn, Arkansas baseball has faced postseason heartbreak. That could continue after a College World Series loss.

Louisville baseball is set to play Arizona at 2 p.m. today after both teams dropped to the elimination bracket in the College World Series on Friday. The Cardinals are now 0-2 all time against Oregon State after a heartbreaking 4-3 walk-off loss to the Beavers to start CWS action.
