ATLANTA — A chaotic and violent night unfolded along Edgewood Avenue in Atlanta from Sunday into Monday morning, as police responded to a shooting involving 11 victims, one of them killed.

Arriving officers found 11 people shot including a 27-year-old man pronounced dead at the scene, Schierbaum told reporters during a late-morning news conference. The other 10 victims included an 18-year-old man who was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

An exchange of gunfire in a busy Atlanta nightlife area left one person dead and 10 others injured, capping off a violent weekend for the city.
