The Pelicans star now has until the trade deadline to prove his worth after Willie Green's firing.

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WGNO)- When Joe Dumars took over as the Pelicans’ Executive VP of Basketball Operations, we knew Willie Green’s time could be limited since he wasn’t a Dumars hire. And now, following a 2-10 start, Green is out as head coach. His time in New Orleans, which began in 2021, included two playoff appearances and first-round exits.

James Borrego has been named the interim head coach of the Pelicans. He will make his debut on Sunday against Golden State.
