The New York Giants got their possible quarterback of the future by trading their way back into the first round.

Joe Schoen traded up into the first round of Thursday night’s NFL Draft to land the Giants a future franchise quarterback: Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart. And Dart, 21, was just as happy as the Giants that Schoen paid the Houston Texans the No. 34 overall pick of the second round, pick No. 99 in the third round and a future third to take him at No. 25.

Shedeur Sanders was expected to be the second quarterback taken, yet things have changed. Per The Athletic, the Giants, Saints, Rams and Steelers have been showing interest in Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart as teams wouldn't be shocked if Dart was the second quarterback taken -- ahead of Sanders.
