The first stage of the player acquisition period of the NFL offseason is here. The league's free agency period started at noon Monday. That's when the official "negotiation window" opened up for teams to reach out to players' agents and start talking about and reaching agreement on deals.

NFL free agency officially began with the new league year kicking off at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday. There were plenty of moves made during the legal tampering period on Monday and Tuesday, but those deals were basically handshake agreements.

Aaron Rodgers to the Steel City? It’s shaping up to be a very real possibility as the Steelers are in discussions with the ex-Jets quarterback, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Monday afternoon. The swift turn of events unfolded “when it became apparent” that Justin Fields — who primarily backed up Russell Wilson in Pittsburgh last season — “wanted to test his value in the free-agent market.

It's Friday and the Pittsburgh Steelers are still stuck on hold, waiting for quarterback Aaron Rodgers to decide where he wants to play football next season. Up until this point, it's been a two-team race with the Steelers and New York Giants.

The NFL world is waiting for Aaron Rodgers to make a decision, and two teams in particular are reportedly getting impatient. During a Thursday appearance on Get Up (5:35 mark), ESPN's Dan Graziano said the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers "are begging him to sign with them.
