The Week 12 AP Top 25 was more about how far teams dropped than position gained by the top teams in the country.

Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M, Alabama and Georgia remain atop the AP Top 25 poll, while Ole Miss jumped ahead of Oregon at No. 6.

Last week Tech was ranked ninth in the AP and Coaches Polls and eighth in the initial College Football Playoff rankings. BYU was one spot ahead of the Red Raider, ranked eighth in both polls and seventh in the CFP rankings. The US LBM Coaches Poll released Nov. 9 now has Texas Tech ranked eighth, up one spot from last week.
