PITTSBURGH — The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated outfielder Alek Thomas from the bereavement list ahead of their series finale against the Pittsburgh Pirates. There was no corresponding move; Thomas takes the spot vacated by outfielder Randal Grichuk, who was traded to the Kansas City Royals during the game on July 26.

Diamondbacks starter Ryne Nelson worked six scoreless innings, giving up just one hit while walking two and strikeout four.
