A court order sent police hunting for Bradford James Gille 24 hours before he allegedly stabbed 11 people at a Walmart in Traverse City, Mich., the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

"Regrettably, less than 24 hours after receiving this order, a tragic series of events occurred in Traverse City," the sheriff's office said.

Following the stabbing of 11 victims at a Walmart store near Traverse City, Michigan, on Saturday, Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea said in a press conference that what bystanders did to stop the knife-wielding man was “amazing.”
