One bill raises the homestead exemption from $100 thousand to $140 thousand.
"Never before has the Texas Legislature allocated more funds to provide property tax relief than they did this session," Abbott said in a press release after legislative approval.
How it works is homeowners can shave $140,000 off the taxable value of their home when paying school district property taxes.
