Earlier Friday, the Court of Appeals denied a request by the Trump administration for an administrative stay pausing the order to fully fund SNAP.

The US Supreme Court let the Trump administration, for now, withhold $4 billion in food aid that a judge had ordered distributed Friday to fully fund November benefits for 42 million people.

“Such a funding lapse is a crisis,” the administration told the Supreme Court in its emergency appeal.
