The Ford Skyliner, or more properly known as the Ford Fairlane 500 Galaxie Skyliner, was the first hardtop convertible to reach four and five digit production numbers during its 1957-1959 run. Out of the museum collection is this 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Hardtop Retractable. Built for three years, from 1957 to 1959, these Hardtop Retractables were quite an innovation for Ford. This video looks closely at the 1958 Sun Gold and Gunmetal Gray convertible. This example has had a frame-off rotisserie restoration by Jerry Miller, who has worked his magic on several other cars inside the museum.
