In 1983, Dia Bridgehampton was designed by Dan Flavin to house a permanent installation of his work alongside a program of temporary exhibitions. With Dia’s support, Flavin renovated the turn-of-the-century Shingle-style firehouse, converting its vestibule and second floor into a display of his signature works in fluorescent light. In a new short film by @sandenwolff for Dia Art Foundation, we explore Dia’s collection of Flavin works, and how this amazing permanent installation came to fruition.
