These City Improvement Trust warehouses of 1905 are unchanged since Streapadair photographed them in April 1973. The Tontine Building (built as the Tontine Hotel) originally stood to their right, starting at the pend where Tontine Lane is today. The warehouses were extended in 1912 after the neighbouring building was gutted by fire in 1911.
