Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas detailed the city’s plan for a $1.9 billion Royals downtown baseball stadium to reporters this afternoon, moments after announcing the aggressive plan. The city plans to put $600 million toward a stadium. Lucas says the current plan is to break ground on a new stadium in Washington Square Park in 2027.
