This Lesser Long Eared baby microbat has now been in care with Bat Rescue South Australia for a few days. Just love their cheeky little characters. So far Thumbelina is thriving with her carer. Once again our heartfelt thanks to the Para Hills Vet Clinic for organising antibiotics for this little one. She had a small wound on her consistent with being grabbed by a cat so antibiotics were vital to save her little life. We look forward to her growing bigger and stronger to eventually be released b

Bee the baby microbat came into care this morning after being found by Warwick on a shop floor. Rescued by Mr Batzilla and weighing in under 2 grams, Bee is even tinier than little Beetle who we rescued a couple of weeks ago. After some much needed subcut fluids, warmth and rest, Bee is feeling much brighter this evening and like Beetle, she will be hand raised by Michelle who specalises in microbats. It has been a busy day at Bat Rescue SA. Started off rescuing Sassy the baby flying fox as seen in our previous video. We were then called to a little microbat we have named Glenda as she was found hanging in a wall at Glenside. She has a minor wing injury that should heal in time. Following that was a call out to an adult flying fox at Penfield. She is a lactating mother but didn’t have her baby with her. She is showing signs of head trauma.
