In the first episode of The Positive News Podcast, we travel to the Ivory Coast to meet Marie-Alix de Putter, founder of Heal by Hair. When de Putter’s husband was murdered 12 years ago, her hairdresser was by her side to ease the pain of grief. This support inspired de Putter to set-up the project which trains hairdressers as mental health first responders, making it easier for people to get support in a country where mental illness remains taboo.
