Lewis Walpole Library on Instagram: "For today’s #FaunaFriday post we present a Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) on a Yellow Toadflax flower (Linaria vulgaris), also known as Butter-and-eggs. Since returning to the practice of not mowing large portions of the back field in the summer, we have a lot more milkweed growing in the back, and monarch butterflies are returning. #FlutterFriday #FlowerFriday @YaleLibrary"
