Daniel Boone’s most well-known daughter was Jemima Boone, born on 4 October 1762, in the Yadkin Valley of North Carolina. She became nationally famous in literature and painting for the epic event in 1776, where her and the Calloway sisters drifted in their canoe a bit too close the bank and were snatched by a raiding party of Cherokee and Shawnee. Boone quickly organized a rescue party. The girls were easy to track because they left small scraps of their dresses and broke stems along the way. T
