Step inside the Salt Lake Tabernacle organ with us! The original organ was built in 1867 by Joseph Ridges. Ridges’s original specifications included 32 ranks and about 1,600 pipes. The organ has grown through several renovations and currently consists of 206 ranks and 11,623 pipes! We love this gorgeous instrument and its rich history! Tabernacle organist Richard Elliott performs an eerie rendition of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Toccata in D Minor” with the Salt Lake Tabernacle pipe organ.
