Plasmatics were an American punk rock band formed in New York City in 1977, best known for their confrontational sound and extreme stage performances. Blending hardcore punk with heavy metal, the band became notorious for live shows that featured chainsaws, explosives, and the onstage destruction of cars and televisions.
