Join Doug in the our research area as he shows his preferred method of pruning Baptisia and cutting back the seed stalks. Baptisias are wonderful, native plants for the spring garden, but can produce many seedlings if left unattended. In our research area we have to remove all the seed pods, so that only the recorded cultivars remain, otherwise our collection loses all value. Some seeds are collected for further hybridization research, but most are discarded into our burn pile, not compost! #gar
