Do you lift your dahlias or cut them down and mulch them? It depends on the growing conditions and weather. Soil type and temperatures are the deciding factor - heavy, wet soils can cause dahlias to rot over winter, dahlias will also rot if they freeze. Often, mulching isn’t enough and it is less risky to lift, dry and store them.
