Today, we toast to the Doolittle Raiders. On April 18th, 1942, Lt. Col. James H. Doolittle led a group of U.S. Army Air Forces airmen into the heart of the Japanese empire. Their mission: Conduct a raid on military targets at Tokyo, Yokohama, Yokosuka, Nagoya, and Kobe. The Doolittle Raid boosted morale among Americans and allies abroad.
